Kitulgala is a small town in the west of Sri Lanka. It is in the wet zone rain forest, which gets two monsoons each year, and is one of the wettest places in the country. Nevertheless, it comes alive in the first three months of the year, especially in February, the driest month.

Tea trail tour in Hatton – Follow the trail of the planters of old Ceylon, as they trekked through the dense jungle looking for the best slopes on which to plant tea. Then to the factory where the all-important conversion to “made” black tea happens, The machinery used is of very traditional British design, some as old as 100 years. The process is a very artisanal one, unchanged for a century. The daily complimentary tour ends with a tasting of different grades of this great brew.

Early morning with packed breakfast leave for Horton Plan (02 hours) trekking at Horton Plan National Park
Horton Plains National Park (04 – 05hrs walk) to reach the escarpment before the mist descends clouding the panoramic view. The Horton Plains are located in the highest plateau of Sri Lanka at an elevation of 7,200 feet above sea level. The highlight of the Plains is the terrific escarpment, The World’s End, which drops vertically for about 700m. On a very clear day, one could view the east horizon too. Rare species of fauna and flora are found here then drive
Thereafter drive to Ella (02 hours) reach to Ella nature resort and evening small walking trail through small villages in Ella, Ella is a beautiful small sleepy town on the southern edge of Sri Lanka’s Hill country it’s situated in the middle of beautiful countryside, with small vegetable plots in the valleys, tea plantations on the hill slopes and forests on the tops.

Sinharaja rain forest – Sinharaja is Sri Lanka’s last existing tropical rainforest. More than 60% of the trees are endemic and many of them are considered rare. There is much endemic wildlife, especially birds, but the forest is also home to over 50% of Sri Lanka’s endemic species of mammals and butterflies, as well as many kinds of insects, reptiles and rare amphibians.
Singharaja Rain Forest with an extent of 11,250 ha. is the only patch of virgin rainforest left in Sri Lanka. This forest was declared a world heritage site in 1989, having the highest number of endemic flora and fauna species in the island and a very high biodiversity. Apart from these sites, you would be visiting the village of Kudawa,
